Maxwell with KYLD and Mos Def in San Francisco

Last night I met up with KYLD-FM (94.9) promotions director Ray Wong.

It was nice to commiserate and rave with him about being members of a minority in the media business.

He talked about breaking K-Ci & Jojo's song "All My Life" for the Bay Area.

The funny thing is, he said, is that while working the music business you can't be a groupie yourself. Still everybody has somebody they love. His idol would be Maxwell, and when he met the smooth crooner, Wong told him how much he respected the artist's work. And, Maxwell was surprisingly humble, answering that the comment meant a lot.
