    Puffy AmiYumi in San Francisco

    Check out my story today on Puffy AmiYumi. (Click here for the story.)

    I interviewed the hyper Japanese pop duo over the phone. They were in Tokyo preparing for a photo shoot for Entertainment Weekly.

    Right in the middle of interviewing them (with translator Archie Meguro from Sony Music, Japan) Ami exclaims, "I dropped my chips!"

    The two are fanatic about food. Yumi loves ice cream and donuts. They really enjoy going to Japanese supermarkets, and make sure they visit Ralphs and Taco Bell when they're in the states.

    When I asked them their age (Yumi is 30 and Ami is 31), they obliged, but Ami says "shh, it's really unofficial."

    So I ask Meguro if it'll be okay to print their ages, he laughs and says, "It's okay, they're just playing."

    Ch-check it out tonight:

    Rock and Roll Circus
    WHERE: Rickshaw Stop, 155 Fell St., SF
    WHEN: 8 p.m. tonight 4/20
    TIX: $5;
    WHY: There will be circus acts

    Ch-check back tomorrow - I'll write about a hip-hop magazine in the works.
