    U2 in San Jose

The other day I had the opportunity to talk to Adam Clayton, bassist for U2. Check out my story at this link.

He gave me a ring while he was on the way to sound check at Los Angeles' Staple Center.

He called as scheduled with a lovely lilt in his voice, the Irish accent. Clayton was sweet, unassuming and very humble.

He said they planned to keep U2 together as long as it goes somewhere. I told him it's more than going somewhere right now.

    Clayton laughed.

I asked him why the others in the band had nicknames and why he didn't. He said, "it just never came up"

And, he took the time to have a conversation with me, instead of me just outright drilling him with questions. He was a gentleman about it and made me like U2 even more.

Ch-check out my Q&A with him on Saturday, along with a huge package of U2 trivia.
